Or maybe this is the most sophisticated April Fools' joke anyone has ever pulled. If only that were true.
We've all resorted to COVID-19 humor to pass the time and bring some levity to the otherwise horror-movie scenario. Today I am doing my part to contribute distraction by pulling from my archives and linking up with my blogging buddies. Please visit these linky parties, and maybe in the comments below, you can tell us about the best April Fools' joke you ever performed (or were subject to).

LeeAnna at Not Afraid of Color hosts I Like Thursday, and don't we all need some positives right now? Head on over there and you're sure to find something inspirational. I just cried my heart out at her 3/29 post featuring the "For Good" duet by Kristin Chenoweth and Rachel Levy. It's a perfect tribute to what many of us bloggers mean to each other. This post covers many of my "likes", from Montana sights to critters to food. Enjoy!Amazing Crepes Restaurant - March 2019 |

Last May, I was helping my Dear Neighbor Friend with some of her students, and I had some spare time before one of the sessions. I recall that it was a glorious spring day; I was drawn to walk the neighborhood around the school, and I made a terrific discovery. The East Side Historic District of Kalispell is in the National Register of Historic Places! It features no less than 74 buildings, mostly homes, each one sporting its own plaque with a detailed description of the building and its history. I photographed nine homes that day, which are worthy of their own post sometime. For right now, I will show you my favorite and link up with Betty at My Corner of the World, who is making the world a smaller place one week at a time!

We are cat lovers in this house, so I never need an excuse to visit Brian's Home. Dolly, Simon, Zoe, Seal and Brian are always up to something, and it is guaranteed to bring a smile to your face. (It may be a wry knowing smile, like "yep, my cat does THAT too!") In this case, we are joining Thankful Thursday, because I am particularly happy this week to be the lucky recipient of the 2020 Little Bird Calendar from Sylvia. Thanks again, Sylvia!
Tom the Backroads Traveller has been a faithful participant in Mosaic Monday, often linking up twice. Thanks, buddy! He also hosts entertaining linky parties such as the Barn Collective, Tuesday's Treasures and Willy Nilly Friday, which I am joining this week. Just as the title implies, you can post anything! If you are in a willy-nilly mood, or WANT to be spontaneous, check it out! The ideal opportunity to show you some murals that were outside the American Sign Museum, which I wrote about here.

Hopefully you have found some diversion with my post today. I will leave you with a final mural. The future is out there waiting for us. Have faith. Show a little kindness to someone who needs it today. Say a prayer for the health professionals who are putting their lives on the line. Until next time!
...the McIntosh House sure is a sweetie!
ReplyDeleteIt was nice to read about your days here and see the photos. Tom is a master blogger for sure with lots of linky parties. It will be good to see how we all come through this time we are in. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteWonderful diversionary post with great photos too ~ Love the McIntosh House~
ReplyDeleteI too miss 'dining out' among other activities too~Hopefully, this will all be history soon and life will get back to a bit of 'normalcy' ~ whatever that might be.

Wonderful post, thank you Angie, that old house is amazing. I am off now to explore your links. Keep safe.
ReplyDeleteYour neck of the woods is so darn pretty, the wildlife is amazing. Hey, it does feel like we're living in a bad dream sometimes but we're trying to keep it light and cheerful here. Thanks for the shout-out, we appreciate it. Thankful Thursday posts Wednesday evening at 8PM EST.
ReplyDeleteThat old house looks like it just popped out of a story book! Love it!
ReplyDeleteHello, what a great post, very inspiring with great ideas. I miss eating out in the restaurants. I love the columbine blooms and the wildlife. Thanks for mentioning my blog and critter party. The blog world has so much to offer, so many great blogs from around the world. Take care and have a happy day!
ReplyDeleteHi Angie! I have enjoyed your post so much today. It is rather dream-like and I'm hoping we can all wake up by the end of this month. My heart goes out to those in NYC, and I am thankful that my great-niece, who is a ballerina and lives there was able to get out and return to her parent's house over two weeks ago. Stay healthy and safe. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne
ReplyDeleteI love the future poster, Angie, we live in hope. Stay safe!

I had one of those, this is a dream moments yesterday when it all felt unreal and the constant threat cause a panic attack. I like Tom and his pics too, love a historic section of a town and that house is so pretty, love animals, love food... thanks girl!

Oh so many great likes. The columbine, mine for some reason all turned purple a few years ago. I like the multi colored ones. Fabulous house, love the colors, and I always adore your trail cam pictures.
ReplyDeleteWe all need a bit of distraction these days and your post is a great on with so much in it! Loving all your photos :)
ReplyDeleteYour link is a great addition to 'My Corner of the World' this week! Thanks for linking up!
A most interesting post, Angie, with lots of distraction opportunities. And you've reminded me that I also need to sow my columbine seeds.
ReplyDeleteOH these are trying times and your blog helps remind me that one day, things will be back to normal, a new normal though right. The idea of going to a restaurant and ordering food and drink and enjoying oneself seems a long time ago.
ReplyDeleteYou managed to pull this post together very nicely with the subjects and the links. And, of course, all the great photos. It certainly is a difficult time for so many in so many ways. Who knows now when I will be able to travel to the states to see my boys, my mom and brother. I try not to worry but there are times when I just can't help it. Thank goodness for all my many hobbies to keep my hands and heart happy. The Historic District of Kalispell definitely looks like a wonderful place for some wandering. Take care.
ReplyDeleteHi Angie, a marvelous array of great things to keep us amused and interested. Enjoyed your photos very much. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteLove that McIntosh house! I always enjoy your wildlife. And I can get behind what you're saying about eating out. I miss all that.
ReplyDeleteSuch a great post and a wonderful assortment of blogs to view for our enjoyment. Thank you for sharing all this.. You said that April made you take out your gardening journal, well staying at home made me think now to do what I always wanted to do.. grow herbs.. bought all the things I needed online this morning.
ReplyDeleteWonderful trail cam footage. Thanks for the quick diversion!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the information about blog shares. Some I use, some I visit and some are new ones I'll check out. - Margy
ReplyDeleteI agree food is the bomb. I look forward to each wonderful meal.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day and weekend. ♥
It is so important to try to stay positive and thankful in this situation. Here in social media there are all sorts of joy campaigns: people share their youth photos or trip memories and put teddy bears on the windows for kids to see. I personally need to get out in the nature - so great that it is still allowed here.
ReplyDeleteThank you for linking Angie, have a fine weekend and take care.
Nice post. The McIntosh House is adorable. Love your animals too!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post.
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteI have the same impression of living in a bad dream. Let's hope it will end soon.
Thanks for visiting my blog. Be well!

Hello Angie, I enjoyed your critters and the post. You are lucky to have the "head chef" there, I wish I had one. I have been checking out various recipes online, I never tried making crepes. They look delicious. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, stay safe! Enjoy your day, wishing you a happy weekend. PS, thank you for the commend and visit.
ReplyDeleteI wish this pandemic crisis was just part of the April Fool's :( Anyway, I enjoyed reading your post! So nice of you to share this to your readers. :)

So far, other than for the lack of socialization, life has changed little for us. I still get out birding each day, but more and more areas are being closed off, some where I hardly ever meet another person, so that's a bit of a mystery. And the virus is hardly a threat on trees and lakes! Miriam has started making masks, double-layered with an interface, which she gives to anyone who requests one and we deliver them to their porches. Pretty soon, however, she is going to run out of elastic and there is nowhere open to buy any. Like everyone, I would like this period to be over, but I fear it will be a fact of life for several weeks or months yet. Stay well, Angie.
ReplyDeleteOh I found a lot of inspiration in this post! LOVE that house in Kalispell - and the Murals!! and your amazing columbine! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your critter photos.
ReplyDeleteWe might it a reprieve during the summer but the press is on.
This post explains it exactly.
